What We Do

Helping Hands generally serves between 85 and 150 people a night so all contributions are a great help!
 

What You Can Do

Donate Food

Kathleen receives food donations from a number of local grocers and restaurants and uses that food to prepare meals. However soups, large tray casseroles, stews and other prepared meals are gratefully accepted. These can be prepared hot and delivered or frozen for use at a later time.

Donate Your Time

Volunteers to help prepare and serve the meals are always welcome; servers please arrive at 420pm.  Here are the days/times/locations we serve during a week:

Times:   4:30pm – 5:30pm

Thursdays at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 118 State St, Harrisburg

Helping Hands Ministries of Harrisburg, inc is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Your monetary contributions are tax-deductible.  

Checks can be made payable to “Helping Hands Ministries, Inc.” and mailed to us.

Donate Clothes

When the seasons change, so do the needs of types of clothing needed by homeless people.  

From October – March, there is a need for:  

• Long Underwear
• Hooded sweatshirts
• Sweatpants
• Socks
• Gloves
• Hats
• Coats
• Blankets.   

From April – September, there is a need for 

• T-shirts
• Windbreakers
• Shorts.
